Cape Town, South Africa is facing a severe drought and on April 12th, 2018 "Day Zero" will occur. This is the day when Cape Town will run out of water. This is a major international city, drawing in thousands of tourists each year, and is the second largest city in South Africa.
This extreme drought has been brought on by drought conditions lasting more than three years, high population of 4 million, and a rapidly changing climate. |
